How to market your website with pay per click marketing?
Pay per click search engine marketing is a method of marketing your website in search engines, and paying each time your website link is clicked on the search engine. Pay per click marketing can be found with the major search engines such as Yahoo, Google, and MSN recently joining. Pay per click links can be found highlighted in search engines at the top of the page, down the right hand side of the page and at the bottom of the page. They will sometimes be called Sponsored links or Sponsored results.
Once you have an account with either of the search engines for PPC marketing, you will need to think of the following factors when using PPC marketing:
1. First of all think of the keywords you want to use and how competitive they are, the PPC systems from Yahoo and MSN will tell you this and tell you how many people are searching for words and other words relating to those words which are also high traffic keywords.
2. Once you have decided your keywords you will need to establish the text for your adverts:
- Title (This is the main part, this part should contain the keyword you are bidding on. So if it was Web Design, you would choose the title to be something like Web21k - Web Design. This will need to be dynamic for each keyword otherwise the adverts in Yahoo and MSN wont be accepted)
- Description (This is the main part of the link, this needs to explain what your website is offering and any key points about your services such as discounted price, free shipping, and about your products or services and its key points)
- Link (This is the link to your website, generally it will be http://www.web21k.com or http://www.yourwebsite.com, always remember the http://www. part and not just www. Also you may want to put it through to a specific page on your website so that you can monitor the amount of clicks you are receiving)
3. The next step after the keywords and links is to choose what you would like to pay for each keywords, usually the search engine will let you know what people are paying and you can choose what budget it relevant for you. Most search engines offer many different budgeting methods such as daily budgeting so you don’t spend more than a specified amount. The higher you pay, the higher your website will be. Also you should be aware that the search engines work as proxy bidding, so if someone is bidding for Web Design at £0.50 a click and there is someone below that paying £0.30 a click, if i place a bid in for £0.49 i will only be charged £0.31 rather than the full £0.49.
Lastly, the biggest key to success with Pay Per Click Marketing is monitoring and input. A lot of websites use automating software to manage their PPC campaigns and to maintaining certain positions for certain amounts of money, generally this can cut time down dramatically but human input is always recommended for better results. Also you should be aware of Pay Per Click fraud. Search engines such as Google who offer website administrators the ability to place Google’s adverts on their website meaning that if the advert it click on their website then Google takes the majority of the share, but gives the website user a share as well. Although this is a great idea for expansion for Google, it is unfortunately used in the wrong way and as a result of this 10% - 20% of all pay per click marketing is down to fraud. Don’t let this put you off though, as there are many ways around which Web21k can offer to stop this using advanced IP address technology to determine these false fraudulent clicks.
